HisHolySpace to Relaunch as Christian.com
Our community- the website currently known as HisHolySpace.com – has seen a lot of growth in its first 1 1/2 years, and it has been an exciting journey so far. Today we are making several exciting announcements about the the next steps in our journey as a community. We will be re-launching the community as “Christian.com.” Christian.com is arguably the best Christian domain name in the world, and is something we are honored to be entrusted with. We believe that together we can make Christian.com not only the best Christian domain name, but the best on-line Christian community! The current Christian.com site already receives a lot of web traffic each month, so having this URL will help the community grow into one of the largest and best Christian social networks in the world.
Joining the Christian.com community with us will be another community you are probably familiar with – FaithItUp.com. FaithItUp and HisHolySpace are similar sites in many respects, so the new Christian.com site will include the best from both of these sites. The old Christian.com website has members as well, so how exciting that we can demonstrate the unity of the Body of Christ by uniting three communities of Christians together as one!
To accommodate the merged community of 50,000 members, and looking towards growth to 100,000 members and beyond, we will also be reorganizing the administration of the site to better support the community. Instead of a single administrator, there will be a team of Site Admins. The initial Site Admin team will include Lee Raney, President of Christian.com and Jeff Broderick, the original founder of HisHolySpace. Additional community members from both HisHolySpace and FaithItUp will be serving on the site Advisory Team, which will include Site Admins, Site Moderators, and Site Contributors. Thank you in advance to the initial Advisory Team for agreeing to serve the new Christian.com community!
In the next weeks we will be transitioning to the name "Christian.com" and upgrading a few things on the site. We are calling this new site the "pre-beta" Christian.com site, which will launch in July 2008. Then just after that we will be building the "next generation" Christian.com site, called the "beta" site, which should be ready later this fall. We will be keeping the community up-to-date on our progress on the Christian.com Blog website.
We are excited about this next chapter for this community, and hope you will continue the journey with us and see what great things the Lord has in store!
